Day 1: Arrival in Argentina

Upon arrival at Argentina's international airport in Buenos Aires you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure, either relaxing at your hotel, or exploring the city. Day 2: Exploring the Tango Capital
Buenos Aires

After breakfast you will be met for your excursion into the Iguazu National Park to spend the day exploring the falls and the surrounding rivers and jungle. The park consists of various trails that take you through the jungle onto wooden walkways built a few meters above the jungle floor and the waterways. These raised platforms protect the natural habitat of the jungle wildlife and allow for spectacular views.

Day 3: Flight to Patagonia
Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn

After breakfast in your hotel you'll be picked up and transferred to the airport for your flight to Patagonia. Upon arrival at Trelew airport, you'll be met and driven to your hotel in Puerto Madryn. Situated on the clear waters of the Atlantic's Golfo Nuevo, Puerto Madryn is a busy town with some excellent beaches and seafood restaurants to enjoy.
Show more It is also the gateway to the wildlife rich Valdez Peninsula where visitors can see penguins, sea lions, dolphins and whales, as well as a wide variety of birdlife. Day 4: Patagonia wildlife
Puerto Madryn

After breakfast you will be met at your hotel for a full day's tour of the Valdes Peninsula. To enter this UNESCO World Heritage site you'll drive along the coast out of town, crossing a narrow strip of land with sea on both sides. Your first stop will be at Caleta Valdes, home to a colony of sea elephants, before continuing along the road to the village of Puerto Piramides.
Show more This is the spring home of a herd of southern right whales, generally arriving in late August and staying until mid-December, although some can be seen as early as June. From here you'll take a boat trip around the bay to watch these immense creatures gliding past. Following your boat trip you'll return to Puerto Madryn with the evening free. (Meals - B)
Day 5: Flight to the End of the World
Puerto Madryn to Ushuaia

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia in the far south of Patagonia. Nicknamed 'The City at the End of the World', Ushuaia lies on the shores of the Beagle Channel and is the capital of the sparsely-populated, mountainous and windswept island of Tierra del Fuego. Ushuaia was one of the last regions of Argentina to be settled by immigrants and was originally home to the kayak-paddling Ona and Patagon Indians who hunted seal and fish, and daubed themselves in seal-fat during winter to ward off the sub-zero temperatures.

Day 6: The Land of Fire
Around Ushuaia

After breakfast you'll be met at your hotel for a morning tour of the Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) National Park, which borders the Beagle Channel and the mountains of Chile. You'll be able to explore the forests and coastline around Lapataia Bay, and right along the coast of the Beagle Channel. The area is home to a beautiful array of flora and fauna, along with varied birdlife, including woodpeckers, steamer ducks, condors and eagles.

Day 7: Flight to the glaciers
Ushuaia to El Calafate

After breakfast in Ushuaia youll be transferred to the airport for your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you can relax and unwind for the remainder of the day. El Calafate is a picturesque village close to Lago Argentino, one of Patagonia's largest and most stunning lakes.

Day 8: The Patagonia glacier fields

After breakfast you will begin a full-day's tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier following a beautiful route through Patagonian national parkland. After the drive you'll walk along the Magallanes Peninsula enjoying stunning views of Lake Rico and the Perito Moreno glacier framed by icy peaks and green forested slopes. In the afternoon you'll board a boat for a cruise across Lake Rico.

Day 9: Exploring the glaciers
Glaciers National Park

After breakfast at your hotel you'll begin a full day tour of Los Glaciares National Park. You'll begin by heading to Punta Bandera pier where a boat will take you to the northern side of the vast Lake Argentino. From here you will head towards the Upsala Glacier, one of the largest in the park.
Show more You will then sail along its 6km front wall before heading towards Onelli Bay, where you will go ashore and take a short walk through a typical Andean-Patagonian forest. After lunch you will return to the bay to continue your boat trip, this time towards Spegazzini, the highest glacier in the park. Day 10: Into the mountains
Calafate to El Chalten

Today you will be driven to El Chalten along the famous Route 40 road which skirts Lake Argentino before following La Leona River. After an hour or so you will arrive at the old route hotel 'La Leona', where you can recharge with coffee and cakes. The trip continues along Lake Viedma, from where you will have beautiful views of glaciers, lakes and the mighty Mount Fitz Roy.

Day 11: El Chalten at your leisure
El Chalten

Today is free for you to enjoy El Chalten and the many beautiful hiking trails that weave around the base of the two giant massifs of the area, Torre and Fitz Roy. There are three main circuits, each with a set of trails. Each trail visits a serious of lakes and stunning viewing points along the way, and there are hikes of varying degrees of difficulty to suit all levels of ability.

Day 12: Return to Buenos Aires
El Calafate to Buenos Aires

In the morning you will be able to enjoy breakfast before being transferred to the airport in Calafate for your flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be driven to your hotel and the evening is free for you to relax and enjoy dinner in one of the capital's many restaurants. Perhaps head to a waterfront restaurant in Puerto Madero where huge riverside warehouses have been converted into a range of stylish restaurants and bars.

Day 13: North to Iguazu
Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

Following breakfast in your hotel in Buenos Aires you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazu, the small town close to the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will be met for an exciting 8km truck ride through the jungle to the river pier, where you will board a fast motor boat for the 2km trip down river to the Devil's Throat Canyon in the heart of the falls.

Day 15: Salta La Linda
Iguazu Falls to Salta

After breakfast at your Buenos Aires hotel you'll be driven to the airport for your flight to Salta where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. The city of Salta is often referred to as Salta La Linda (meaning Salta the beautiful) due to its well-preserved colonial architecture and year-round warm climate. In the afternoon you will take a guided city tour visiting Salta's most important buildings and churches, including the church of San Francisco and the 1762 built Convent of San Bernardo.

Day 16: The mountains of Jujuy

After breakfast you will head out of the city through the dramatic mountainous landscapes of Salta and Jujuy provinces, stopping along the way at various places of historical and cultural interest. This whole area has rich aboriginal traditions and striking landscapes dotted with small towns. First stop will be Purmamarca with its famous Mountain of Seven Colors', then it's on to the small village of Maimar dominated by steep colored mountains known as The Painter's Palette'.
Show more You'll then continue through Jujuy province to the villages of Tilcara, Huacalera and finally Humahuaca, famous for its exuberant carnival. Day 17: Cafayate journey
Salta to Cafayate

After breakfast at your hotel in Salta you'll be met for your journey to Cafayate. Heading out of the city to the south, you'll pass through large expanses of tobacco plantations as you head towards the wine producing town of Cafayate. First stop will be at the Dique Cabra Corral, an impressive 'water mirror', before driving through the deep ravine of either the Quebrada del Rio Las Conchas, or Quebrada de Cafayate.

A hub for adventurers and hikers in the area, Cafayate provides the closest point of access to some of the most impressive terrains in the Northwestern deserts of Argentina. The sun, which beats down on the region nearly year round, creates fertile land for grape growing and the area is a center for wine production.

Day 19: Back to the capital
Cafayate to Buenos Aires

This morning you'll be met at your hotel for the drive back to Salta and your flight to Buenos Aires.
