Day 1: Arrival in Northern Brazil

Salvador de Bahia

After flying over the beautiful coastline of Bahia in Brazil's north-east, you'll arrive in Salvador de Bahia, the first capital of Brazil. Upon arrival you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel before being taken on an afternoon tour of the city. The tour begins near the bay in the streets of the lower city before reaching the Lacerda Elevator. Show more

Day 2: Inland to the mountains of Chapada

Salvador to Lençóis

After breakfast you'll be collected from your hotel in Salvador for the journey to Lençóis. Traveler Service passengers will have a group transfer, whereas those in Premium Service will make the journey by private car. The road west from Salvador passes through the flat, dry lands of the Sertao, Brazil's desert interior, to the old diamond mining town of Lençóis. Show more

Day 3: The caves of Diamantina

Chapada Diamantina National Park

After breakfast at your hotel you'll be collected for today's tour, beginning with a visit to some of the most impressive caves and underground rivers in the park. Your guide will show you around the Lapa Doce cave, pointing out various rock formations and stalagmites as you go. You'll then continue on to Pratinha Farm for lunch and a swim in the crystal waters of Pratinha River. Show more

Day 4: Waterfalls and mountain views

Chapada Diamantina National Park

On your second day in the Chapada Diamantina National Park you'll take a guided hike to the top of Cachoeira de Fumaca - Smoke Waterfall so named due to the fine mist that the water creates as it falls. After breakfast youll travel by car to Capão Valley from where you'll start your trek along a 2km path that winds up to the flat top of Serra do Sincora. The views across the valley and to the other mountains are stunning. Show more

Day 5: The Coconut Highway

Lençóis to Salvador

Following breakfast you will be collected from your hotel for the overland journey to Praia do Forte. Traveler Service passengers will have a group transfer, whereas those in Premium Service will make the journey by private car. The Coconut Highway north of Salvador runs along the coastline, passing through small fishing villages on the 50km stretch from Salvador to Praia do Forte. Show more

Day 6: Paradise beaches of Bahia

Praia do Forte

With a free day in Praia do Forte you can spend the day relaxing amidst the greenery of your hotel gardens or on the beautiful beaches of Bahia said to be some of the best in all of Brazil. The reef just off of Praia do Forte beach acts as a natural breakwater, making the turquoise sea calm and clear. The tidal pools that form amongst the coral reef warm up in the sun, making swimming and snorkeling amongst the colorful tropical fish an enjoyable experience for anybody. Show more

Day 7: Turtle watching in Bahia

Praia do Forte

Another free day in Praia do Forte gives you the chance to kayak in the lagoon, walk the trails of the Sapiranga Nature Reserve and visit the old fort after which the town is named. You can also visit the famous turtle sanctuary on the beachfront, where hundreds of female turtles visit each year between May and September to lay their eggs in the sands of Praia do Forte. The turtles and their nesting sites are protected by TAMAR, a Brazilian sea turtle project. Show more

Day 8: Leaving Brazil

Praia do Forte to Salvador and away

After breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up for your transfer to the airport in Salvador de Bahia for your flight home. (Meals - B)
