Day 1: Arrival in Argentina

Upon arrival at Argentina's international airport in Buenos Aires you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure, either relaxing at your hotel, or exploring the city. Ask your Argentina travel specialist about a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, a beautiful historical site surrounded by parks and cafes and a busy arts and crafts market during weekends.

The tango is a passionate and intense dance and over the course of the evening you will experience one of Argentina's most beloved art forms. Day 2: Exploring the Tango Capital

After breakfast at your hotel you'll be able to head out and explore Buenos Aires. Traveler Service includes a half day tour of the capital's most important buildings and neighborhoods with one of our private local guides, including the city centre where you'll see the Obelisco and the Casa Rosada before continuing on to La Boca, San Telmo, Recoleta and Palermo. In Premium Service you will have the choice to take a peaceful guided walking tour through the elegant neighborhood of Recoleta in the morning, or experience a wine tasting in the afternoon.
Show more On the walking tour your local guide will explain the various landmarks and buildings and tell you all about the history of the area and its many architectural influences, then later in the afternoon you'll be taken back to your hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to relax. Day 3: Buenos Aires at your leisure

Today is free for you to enjoy your last day in the city of Buenos Aires at your leisure, either exploring on your own or choosing one of our many extra tour options. If the day falls on a Sunday you may wish to take a stroll around the colourful San Telmo market. Alternatively, you can take a morning walk thorough Palermo Woods and the Rose Garden or visit the Evita Museum or the MALBA museum of Latin American art.

Day 4: Flight to the glaciers
Buenos Aires to El Calafate

After breakfast you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you can relax and unwind for the remainder of the day. El Calafate is a picturesque village close to Lago Argentino, one of Patagonia's largest and most stunning lakes.
Show more The region is also home to high mountains and the immense ice-caps of Los Glaciares National Park, which was added to the World Heritage List in 1981. The pleasant village of El Calafate is often used as a base for hiking and exploring the national park. Visitors can take boat trips across the lakes and walk through forests of poplar, willow and pine, and on to the glacier fields. (Meals - B)
Day 5: The Patagonia glacier fields
The Glaciers National Park

After breakfast you will begin a full-day's tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier following a beautiful route through Patagonian national parkland. After the drive you'll walk along the Magallanes Peninsula enjoying stunning views of Lake Rico and the Perito Moreno glacier framed by icy peaks and green forested slopes. In the afternoon you'll board a boat for a cruise across Lake Rico.
Show more As you approach the glacier you'll be able to see and hear huge blocks of ice breaking off and falling into the waters of the lake. Day 6: Patagonia at your fingertips
Around El Calafate

Today you have a free day to explore the beautiful landscapes in and around the Patagonia Glacier National Park. There are many options to choose between, including hiking across the glaciers, cruising through the national park on Lake Argentino or visiting a Patagonia estancia to learn about life in this far-flung corner of the world. At the estancias you'll be able to explore the grounds, learn about their history and go horseback riding or hiking through stunning countryside.

Day 7: Crossing into Chile
El Calafate to Torres del Paine

After breakfast at your hotel in Calafate you'll be met for the journey across Argentina's border with Chile into the Torres del Paine National Park. You'll be driving through stunning landscapes of towering peaks and beautiful lakes. The Torres ( or towers) del Paine are a series of striking granite peaks that rise up suddenly from the mountains and mark the dividing line between the Patagonian steppes and the sub-polar forests of the region.

Day 8: The Grey Glacier
Torres del Paine National Park

After breakfast at your hotel you'll be met for a full day excursion into the Torres del Paine National Park. You'll begin by driving to the shores of the Grey Lake where you'll board a boat which will take you across the icy waters of the lake. You'll be passing by floating icebergs which have broken off of the main glacier, and on a clear day the views of the mountains surrounding the lake will be beautiful.
Show more After around an hour you'll approach the Grey Glacier wall which rises up from the lake with jagged ice peaks and a luminous blue glow. In the late afternoon you'll be transferred back to your hotel with the evening free to relax. (Meals B)
Day 9: Flight to Santiago
Torres del Paine to Santiago

After breakfast you'll be met at your hotel for your transfer to Punta Arenas and your flight to Santiago de Chile. Chile's capital city has many interesting sights to see, as well as an excellent restaurant and bar scene. Upon arrival at the airport you'll be met and shown to your hotel with the rest of the day free to relax or go out and explore the city.

Day 10: Santiago & Surroundings

This morning you'll have one of our local hosts to show you the city, beginning in Santiago's main avenue and visiting the impressive Government Palace. You'll then continue on foot through the lively commercial centre before visiting the famous Plaza de Armas and the Metropolitan Cathedral. The tour will finish in the artistic neighborhood of Bellavista with its market and handcraft workshops.
Show more In the afternoon, those in Premium service will be driven to the Maipu Alto region south of the city of Santiago. You'll be visiting a small, but well known, vineyard where you'll find out all about the process of winemaking, as well as having the chance to taste some of the vintages. The vineyard has 1300 acres of vines and produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Merlot and Syrah. In the evening you'll return to your hotel in Santiago and enjoy your last evening in Chile. Day 11: Leaving South America
