  • CAT TRAVEL is a Fantastic Tour Organizer!

My wife and I decided last March to spend three weeks in Argentina. We had our return airline tickets, but no itinerary scheduled once in BA. I found CAT Travel advertising on the South American Explorers Society Web Page and got in touch. We had never planned a trip this way and we have been around (check WorldTraveler2540 on Trip Advisor...). The CAT staff was prompt to reply to our inquiry. Pablo asked us what places we wanted to see (BA, Iguazu, Bariloche, Calafate and Ushuaia) and if we were anticipating any activities.  We asked him to plan a private tour, with personal driver and French speaking guide (not easy to find in Argentina); we asked him to add some adventure in it. After a few emails, we decided to go with CAT; Pablo was so efficient and available that we decided to trust them.  This was the first time we were booking such a long trip on the net so we were a bit anxious but decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed.  As soon as we landed in BA, we were taken care of by Gilda, their French speaking guide. We were then to visit Buenos Aires and its surroundings, an Estancia, an evening in a tango hall etc. We went boating at Iguazu falls, trekking and kayaking in Bariloche, fly fishing in Calafate, etc.  In few words, we had a WONDERFUL TRIP and would not hesitate to recommend Pablo and CAT Travel for anybody wishing to travel to South America. Thanks again!

  • Dear Adam and the CAT Team,

I wanted to say thank you so much for all your efforts in helping me plan my Brazilian Honeymoon.  Adam, you were great with getting me all the info I needed!  We took the Salvador, Lencois, and Praia do Forte trip and we had the most AMAZING time!  The trip was so well organized; someone was always there from to pick us up on time and take us to the right place.

It was my first time to Brazil (my husband is Brazilian) and I can't wait to go back!  I am ready to start planning the next trip with CAT.  All three cities were great in their own way, but I have to say Lencois was so much fun.  The trails we hiked (never hiked a day in my life) and the caves we swam in, and walked through were the most incredible sights we have ever seen.  In 9 days we took over 700 photos!

The best honeymoon ever!!!  Thank you so much CAT!  I can't wait to plan with you again!

  • Hello Marc,

I would like to thank you for arranging an excellent 3 week holiday for Sharon, Al, Debbie and myself in Southern Peru. After much e-mailing back and forth, with changes in dates and itineraries due to our schedules and requirements, the vacation was all that we could have hoped for and more. The guides were all very professional and seemed to be genuinely keen to share their knowledge and love of their history and culture. The accommodation was first class, and the recommended restaurants very good and a bargain by our standards! All of the transfers, flights and side tours went without a hitch, the weather was very kind to us, and I came home with 663 photographs! Thanks again for a great holiday, and I would recommend your services without hesitation.

  • Dear Jeremy,

Overall, we can truly say that it was an excellent trip - thank you very much for all your efforts in making it so wonderful. We have truly enjoyed ourselves and have learnt a lot, about Peru in particular. Permit me to give you my feedback on the trip.

The local tours and guides are intimately linked, a good guide can make a heaven-and-earth difference to the enjoyment of a tour. Again, overall we can say that the guides provided were of excellent standard. They showed great enthusiasm for their job, were very knowledgeable in their field of speciality and were able to impart a great deal of information to us on their tours. David and Rosie in particular enlightened us greatly re the Inca history, culture, geology and physical features as well as the flora and fauna of the Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu.   We must also complement you on the drivers and vehicles provided. The vehicles were all clean and in excellent condition and the drivers were to a man, careful and considerate.

The truly outstanding hotel was Sumaq at Aguas Calientes the service was truly world class. The food, service and presentation in its dining room was truly 5-star. The staff were very well trained and extremely attentive to our need. Our commentary on hotels would not be complete if we failed to mention the wonderful lunch we had at the hacienda during our tour of the Sacred Valley. The location and food were both of very high standard indeed.

It had been a truly memorable 'Trip of a Life Time' for the four of us. Given the enormous distances involved for us to get to South America; we are not sure we shall be able to repeat this trip in the foreseeable future. But we shall definitely recommend CAT if any of our friends want to plan a trip there.

Thank you once again and with best wishes.

  • Dear Class Adventure Travel,

My husband and I decided to take a 21-day trip to Peru. We looked at many travel agencies and decided to use Class Adventure Travel. I started to e-mail them and Jeremy from the agency responded via e- mail and phone. He was happy to work with me to arrange the trip that I wanted.

Our trip started in Lima, Peru. On our third day there, I lost my security pouch that contained my passport, money, credit cards etc. We called the Lima US embassy's emergency number and left a message about the lost passport. We also called Class Adventure Travel's emergency number and told Jasmine the story. She reassured us that all would be well, that we should continue our travels with a copy of my passport and migration card (Peru travel permit needed to stay at any hotel in Peru), and a copy of the police report.

At every city we went to, a guide from Class Adventure Travel would meet us (always on time ) and would be aware of the situation. They would help us get into the hotels, on to the next mode of transportation ( one must show one's passport or id card to travel on a bus, train, or plane), and make the local guides aware of the problem. Jasmine had to rearrange several days of our trip so that we could be in Cusco on a Friday to go to the consulate there and put in my paperwork for a passport.

The CAT guide in Cusco met us and explained how she would take us to the consulate and then to immigration to get the needed papers. She even went out to a place to get my photos changed to the correct size needed while I filled out forms. As I would not be in Lima until the Saturday evening before our plane departed on Sunday to the US, Jasmine was kind enough to go to the US embassy to pick up my passport during the hours that the embassy would be open, and then had the guide deliver it to me at the airport Saturday evening.

For all this extra work, I was only charged $128.00 for the extra hotel night in Cusco. No charges for all the other transport and tour changes. Nothing for all the extra work that the guides put in helping us . Everyone was very concerned that we were still having a good trip despite my problem. The people who run and work for CAT are the greatest!!

Also, I should mention that they all were college grads and spoke several languages and were very knowledgeable about Peruvian history, plants, and animals. I have had the good fortune to travel with some good agencies , but these people who work for CAT are the very best!! I highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Peru.

  • Dear CAT,

Just back in Holland after the BEST AND MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIP I EVER DID! Argentina and Buenos Aires made such a BIG impression on me, I loved the country and the people and felt myself opening up to the whole world....and with that great feeling I boarded the Bark Europa and sailed for three weeks to Antarctica, the coldest place on earth but I never experienced more warmth and love then I did there.......
That's why I'd like to thank all of you at Class Adventure Travel for your help, time and warmth while I was in BA. Your support helped me in feeling at home in Argentina straight away and I'm sure it was this great start that catalyzed the rest of the trip and made it something so unforgettable....... Wish all of you lots of luck and happiness and as far as I'm concerned I wanna be back ASAP......have travelled all over the world but never ever found a place like Argentina with so much positive energy, love and kindness.

    Big hug from cold Holland,

    Thijs Heslenfeld,

  • Dear Veronica,

Just a quick note to thank you for the personal contact and service that we received from Class Adventure Travel during our travels in South America. Finding a friendly face and someone so helpful in getting our personalized itinerary organised for our time in Argentina and Chile was fantastic. We basically had no problems and the choice of hotels and tours was even better than what we had anticipated. Our visit to the Patagonian region was just sensational, how can one ever forget the sight of Perito Moreno Glacier, the hikes that we did while in El Chalten, the views of Cerro Torres and Cerro Fitz Roy peaks breaking out of the clouds as well as the beautiful autumn colours that surrounded us. Your help in rescheduling our itinerary after my short illness in Punta Arenas was greatly appreciated and the last weeks of our trip went really well. We feel that we needed to let you know that we were extremely happy with all your support and help and would have no hesitation in recommending you and Class Adventure Travel to other people. Hopefully we will have some friends heading your way in 2006. We are now waiting for you to visit us so that we can return some hospitality.

    Cheers and all the best,
