Chan- Chan - Covering an area of approximately 20km², the city of Chan Chan was constructed by the Chimú people between 850 and 1470. It is the world’s largest adobe city and once housed up to 30,000 inhabitants. Chan-Chan was the imperial capital of the region until the Chimú were conquered by the Incas in the 15th century.

The Temples of the Sun and Moon - This fascinating archeological site is home to two large pyramid structures known as the temples of the sun and moon. At 45m high, the Temple of the Moon was once the highest manmade structure in the western hemisphere.
