After breakfast at your hotel you'll be able to head out and explore Buenos Aires. Your local guide/host will show you the capital's most important buildings and neighborhoods, including the city centre where you'll see the Obelisco and the Casa Rosada before continuing on to La Boca, San Telmo, Recoleta and Palermo. They will explain the various landmarks and buildings and tell you all about the history of each area and its many architectural influences. Later in the afternoon you'll be taken back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.

Ushuaia was one of the last regions of Argentina to be settled by immigrants and was originally home to the kayak-paddling Ona and Patagon Indians who hunted seal and fish and daubed themselves in seal-fat during winter to ward off the sub-zero temperatures. Following arrival the remainder of the day will be free for you to spend at your leisure. Warming up by a cozy fire-place in your hotel and enjoying some delicious Patagonian food is highly recommended.

The area is home to a beautiful array of flora and fauna, along with varied birdlife, including woodpeckers, steamer ducks, condors and eagles. Weather permitting, you will then have the option to canoe around the bay for an alternate perspective on the coastline. After lunch take an afternoon boat trip aboard a Zodiac and sail across the bay to Redonda Island enjoying stunning views across the park.

After breakfast at your hotel you'll be met by your guide for a sailing trip along the Beagle Channel to observe sea life on the nature-rich islands of the bay. You'll be driven to the port where you'll board your boat and begin by sailing past the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse. You'll then reach a large Magellan Penguin colony where you'll stop to observe their activity. Return to Ushuaia in the afternoon for an evening at leisure, or extend your tour to other activities in and around the town.

El Calafate is a picturesque village close to Lago Argentino, one of Patagonia's largest and most stunning lakes. The region is also home to high mountains and the immense ice-caps of Los Glaciares National Park, which was added to the World Heritage List in 1981. The pleasant village of El Calafate is often used as a base for hiking and exploring trips into the national park. Visitors can take boat trips across the lakes and walk through forests of poplar, willow and pine, and on to the glacier fields.

After breakfast you will begin a full-day's tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier following a beautiful route through Patagonian national parkland. After the drive you'll walk along the Magallanes Peninsula enjoying stunning views of Lake Rico and the Perito Moreno glacier framed by icy peaks and green forested slopes. In the afternoon you'll board a boat for a cruise across Lake Rico. As you approach the glacier you'll be able to see and hear huge blocks of ice breaking off and falling into the waters of the lake.

The park consists of various trails that take you through the jungle onto wooden walkways built a few meters above the jungle floor and the waterways. These raised platforms protect the natural habitat of the jungle wildlife and allow for spectacular views. Be ready for some adventure in the afternoon, as you'll be taking to the waters to navigate the falls aboard a motor boat, heading through the rapids into the Devil's Throat Canyon.

After breakfast at your Buenos Aires hotel you'll be driven to the airport for your flight to Salta where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. The city of Salta is often referred to as Salta La Linda (meaning Salta the beautiful) due to its well-preserved colonial architecture and year-round warm climate. In the afternoon you will take a guided city tour visiting Salta's most important buildings and churches, including the church of San Francisco and the 1762 built Convent of San Bernardo. Later in the afternoon you'll visit San Martin Park where you'll board a cable car to San Bernardo Hill for fantastic views of the city before finishing your tour at a local craft market. The rest of the day is free for you to relax at your hotel or enjoy an evening out in Salta.

Today you will begin a two day excursion taking in many of Northwestern Argentina's geographical highlights. Firstly you'll take The Road to the Clouds (which follows the route of the famous railway track The Train to the Clouds) up through the Quebrada del Toro to San Antonia de los Cobres high in the mountains. The train track is an amazing feat of engineering which includes 21 tunnels, 31 bridges, 13 viaducts and 1279 bends as it winds its way up from Salta to the Chilean border. You'll then travel along route 40 through the puna to the beautiful Salinas Grandes (salt lakes) of Jujuy. Finally you'll drive down via Lipan to the picturesque town of Purmamarca at the base of the well-known painted hills, which rise up behind the town in varying shades of rusty orange and yellow. In the evening you'll be transferred to your hotel with the rest of the evening free for you to relax and enjoy dinner.

In Purmamarca, be sure to swing through the interesting handicraft market before you continue your trip up through the colorful hills of the region, with areas donning small villages of whitewashed adobe houses and historical churches. In the afternoon you'll arrive at Humahuaca, the largest town between Jujuy and the Bolivian border. Founded in 1591 on the site of a major pre-Hispanic settlement, Humahuaca is a typical Andean colonial town, with narrow streets and one-story adobe buildings. The beautiful landscapes of the nearby Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO protected world heritage site in the Sub-Andean hills, can be easily visited from the town, as well as an important folkloric museum. In the late afternoon you'll return to Salta where the evening is free for you to relax at your hotel and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast at your hotel in Salta you'll be met for your full day tour to Cafayate. Heading out of the city to the south, you'll pass through large expanses of tobacco plantations as you head towards the wine producing town of Cafayate. First stop will be at the Dique Cabra Corral, an impressive 'water mirror', before driving through the deep ravine of either the Quebrada del Rio Las Conchas, or Quebrada de Cafayate. Both have spectacular rock formations and resemble natural amphitheatres. The last stop of the tour before returning to Salta will be at Cafayate, where you will take a tour of the town and its wine cellars, which produce the delicious 'Torrontes', a fruity white wine.
