Paraty - This charming little town on Brazilís Costa Verde has a beautifully preserved colonial center. Many of the original town houses have been turned into cafes, restaurants, boutiques and galleries by the European expats who have visited, fallen in love and stayed, and the town has an artistic and international air about it. The rough cobblestone streets of the historical center are lined with elegant whitewashed buildings with brightly painted blue and yellow frames. The whole zone is closed to cars, making it perfect for strolling around and there is a relaxed, but lively buzz in the evenings with al fresco dining and live jazz and bossa nova. The town also has a wonderful setting, backed by forested mountains and surrounded by pristine coastline and secluded beaches.

The beaches - There are a wealth of pristine and tranquil beaches within a short drive or boat journey from the town. Paraty bay is dotted with small islands that boast some of the most beautiful beaches in the region.

The churches - Paraty has a number of beautiful 16th century churches to visit. Many of which were built by slaves and retain some of their original features, as well as new additions added through the centuries.
