Morro de Sao Paulo - The small beach town of Morro sits on the northern headland of the island of Tinhare, a short boat ride from Salvador de Bahia. The town has a relaxed pace helped by the no cars allowed policy, and during the summer months, and especially so around carnival season, it is an extremely popular vacation destination with beach parties almost every night. The town is presided over by jungle covered mountains and the ruins of a 15th century colonial fort, while stretching out around it are rolling sand dunes and coconut palm fringed beaches. The island itself is divided by estuaries and mangroves and surrounded by a sparkling turquoise ocean complimented by the golden sands of some of the very best beaches in Brazil.
