The Ariau Amazon Towers is the only hotel complex located at tree top level in the Amazon Jungle. It lies 60km upstream from Manaus on the bank of the Rio Negro, which forms the Amazon River when it meets the Rio Solimões, another 10 miles downstream from Manaus. It also lies at the start of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, the largest freshwater archipelago in the world. The towers of the lodge are linked by 8km of catwalks, with 2 swimming pools, 2 observation towers with telescopes, 2 restaurants, 1 bar, 1 café and stores. The restaurants serve international and regional cuisine, with dishes from Amazon River fish and Amazon Forest fruits a speciality.
The lodge has 260 rooms, 11 luxurious suites (located in the towers) and 9 luxurious tree-houses at tree-top level. All accommodation comes with air-conditioning and private bathroom and is tastefully decorated using local materials and crafts.

Weather
The Manaus region is very tropical and has a warm and humid climate throughout the year with abundant rainfall between November and April. The average temperature at this time is 26°C, although it can reach 36°C.
The dry season runs from April through to October and daily temperatures can reach as high as 35°C. From time to time however, there are cold fronts that extend from the South Atlantic and drop temperatures as low as 15°C during the day and 13°C at night. It is often thought that the start of the dry season is the best time to visit Manaus as the forests are still flooded. |
