Festivals
Most Holidays in Argentina commemorate historical events or the death of some of their national heroes. Though there are some parades and official government acts, none of the holidays are particularly attractive tourist speaking, except in some of the northern villages, such as Tilcara, where Easter is celebrated with traditional music bands and street parties, or in Gualeguaychú, in the Litoral region, where the Carnival is attractive in clothing and dancing.
Many of these Holidays are mobile, in order to make three day weekends to promote the tourist industry. These are the official dates:
- January 1st - New Year’s Day
- March 24th – Memorial Day (Anniversary of 1976 coup d'état)
