Salta - Located in the Northwestern desert region of Argentina, Salta is a bustling city with a balmy climate. Nicknamed ‘La Linda’ (meaning ‘the Beautiful’ in Spanish) Salta lies in the fertile Lerma Valley and is surrounded by rivers and steep mountains. The attraction of Salta lies not only in the beauty of its surroundings, but also in the nightlife and the interesting cultural heritage that the city proudly exhibits in its many folk music bars and in its delicious regional cuisine. Salta is a thriving city and also a great base from which to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding it.

Don’t miss…

Colonial Architecture – Salta has a great deal of colonial and neo-colonial architecture, and the city is both pleasant and interesting to walk through. The 'Plaza 9 de Julio' is the central square of the city and is home to the centuries old town hall as well as a beautiful neoclassical cathedral.

The Road to the Clouds - This fifteen-hour round trip starts in Salta and winds its way up through the mountains via a complicated series of bridges and tunnels. It is a dizzying and dramatic accent affording spectacular views of the landscape.

Quebrada del Toro – This magnificent gorge has dramatic mountain scenery and striking multicolored rock formations.
