It was very comforting to be picked up at the airports by the CAT people. Especially Luis in Lima was outstanding!

Iguazú Falls - Located in the northern province of Misiones on Argentina’s border with Paraguay and Brazil, the massive Iguazú Falls and the forested national park surrounding it are spectacular.  In the language of the indigenous Tupi-Guarani people of the area, Iguazú literally means ’Great Water’ and with over 275 separate falls thundering down into the river below from heights of up to 80m, Iguazú Falls is without a doubt one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls. The town of Puerto Iguazú has many restaurants and hotels and is the Argentine point of access to the falls. A well thought out network of paths and wooden walkways are laid out across the park, and boat trips offer close-up views of Iguazú Falls’ tremendous curtains of water.

Don’t miss…

The Devil’s Throat Canyon - The mighty Devil’s Throat Falls in the heart of Iguazú Falls is the most staggeringly powerful of the lot. Visitors can look down into the churning canyon and see rainbows forming amongst the spray.

Iguazú wildlife – Iguazú Falls National Park is home to over 2000 species of plants, 450 species of birds, and 80 species of mammal. There is also as an impressive array of insect life, and few people leave the park without spotting at least a handful of its wildlife, which includes monkeys, toucans and brightly colored butterflies.
