After exploring Buenos Aires you'll move on to the impressive Iguazu, with 270 separate falls set amid a lush jungle of bromeliads, orchids and brightly colored butterflies, Iguazu Falls is one of the largest and most spectacular in the world. From here it's on to Salta, an amazing city that attracts visitors from all over the world with its unique charm, impressive colonial architecture and striking 'painted hills'.     Arrival in Argentina

  • Upon arrival at the international airport in Buenos Aires you will be welcomed, escorted to your hotel and briefed on all your travel plans for your stay in Argentina. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure, either relaxing in your hotel, or exploring some of the nearby areas. One option would be to visit Recoleta Cemetery, a stunning historical site that coexists peacefully with the surrounding string of Parisian-style cafes and bars, and the busy arts and crafts market that takes place there at the weekend. It is within this famous cemetery that Evita Peron's grave can be found, along with those of many other notable characters of Buenos Aires. In the evening we recommend that you dine at one of the many celebrated steak-houses that have made Buenos Aires famous. Your Argentina Travel Expert will be happy to give you any advice you require, and to make both recommendations and restaurant reservations for you.

    Paris of Latin America

  • The Buenos Aires guided tour takes in many of the city's main attractions, including La Boca, San Telmo, the Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, the cathedral, colonial Cabildo and the old Town Hall, before continuing on to the elegant Barrio Norte and finishing in the quieter residential neighborhood of Palermo. In the evening you will be attending one of the city's finest 'Dinner and Tango' shows, where you will experience the very best of Argentine cuisine accompanied by some fabulous wines. Following dinner the show will begin -Tango is a passionate and intense dance, and over the course of the evening you will have the opportunity to hear many of Argentina's most beloved numbers.     Buenos Aires at your leisure

  • This day is left free for you to enjoy the city of Buenos Aires at your leisure, either exploring on your own or taking one of our many extra options. If this day falls on a Sunday you may wish to take a stroll around the San Telmo Flea Market. Alternatively, you can take a morning walk thorough Palermo Woods and the Rose Garden before stopping for lunch. In the afternoon you could visit the Evita Museum or the MALBA - Museum of Latin American Art. Another great option is the day trip to Uruguay and Colonia del Sacramento. With lunch included this tour visits Uruguay's most charming town giving you a tour of its most spectacular sites including the old quarter of Oporto or Lisbon and the Puerta de la Ciudadela.     Lights of BA to the falls

    Buenos Aires to Iguazu

  • Iguazu Falls Boat Ride
  • Following breakfast in your hotel in Buenos Aires you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazu, the small town close to the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your comfortable hotel in the town. In the afternoon you will experience an exciting 8km truck ride through the jungle to the river pier, where you will board a fast motor boat for the 2km trip down river to Devil's Throat canyon in the heart of the falls. This day will be full of thrills and spills and is an absolute must for the adventurer at heart. After a busy afternoon you will return to your hotel and spend the evening at your leisure. (Meals - B)
  • Day 5

    FD Argentina Falls

  • After breakfast you will be transferred to the new Visitor's Center where you can either board the train to Cataratas Station (8 minutes away), or take a short walk along the 'Green Trail' that leads to the beginning of the main viewing circuits. The same train also goes on to Garganta Station where you can take the trail around Devil's Gorge. Upper Circuit: This trail consists of 800 meters of catwalks suspended above the jungle floor. Designed to protect the local wildlife in the area, these catwalks prevent disruption to their natural habitat and trails. From this circuit you will have an elevated view of the falls and can enjoy panoramic views of the area. Lower Circuit: This trail consists of 1600 meters of catwalks that run a little lower down, closer to the jungle floor. This circuit provides the unique experience of being surrounded by the jungle, seeing and experiencing the magnitude of the falls from close quarters. Devil's Gorge Trail: Departing from Cataratas Station, the train to Garganta takes about 18 minutes. A walk along the catwalks some 1200 meters above the jungle takes you to the spectacular Devil's Gorge. Once you have finished the circuits you can return to the Visitor's Center where vehicles will be awaiting your return. Lunch is included at La Selva restaurant (standard packages) or at Das Cataratas (premium packages). The evening is free for you to spend at your leisure. (Meals - B, L)
  • Day 6

    Salta the Beautiful - la Linda

  • After breakfast you will be driven to the domestic airport for your two-hour flight to Salta where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The city of Salta has a distinctly Hispanic feel to it, with an urban skyline distinguished by the colonial architecture of its original buildings and churches. In the afternoon you will undertake a guided city tour visiting the Basilica Cathedral, the church of San Francisco, the Catholic University and the Convent of San Bernardo with its amazing carved entrance dating back to 1762. You will then continue to San Martin Park where you will board a cable car and ride up to Cerro San Bernardo for fantastic views of the city. (Meals - B)
  • Day 7

    FD Humahuaca

    Salta

  • Purmamarca
  • After breakfast you will head out of the city through dramatic mountainous landscapes stopping along the way at various places of historical and cultural interest, including Purmamarca (The Mountain of Seven Colors), Maimar, (The Painter's Palette), Tilcara, Huacalera and finally the charming village of Humahuaca, famous for its exuberant carnival. On the way back to Salta, you will visit Jujuy City and its beautiful main square and cathedral, before returning to your hotel for the evening. (Meals - B)
  • Day 8

    FD Cafayate

    Salta

  • Following breakfast in your hotel you will head out of the city to the south, passing through large expanses of tobacco plantations on all sides. First stop will be at the Dique Cabra Corral, an impressive 'water mirror', before driving through the deep ravine of either the Quebrada del Rio Las Conchas, or Quebrada de Cafayate. Both have spectacular rock formations and resemble natural amphitheaters. The last stop of the day will be Cafayate, where you will have a tour of the town and its wine cellars, which produce Torrontes, a fruity white wine. (Meals - B)
  • Day 9

    Return to Buenos Aires

    Salta to Buenos Aires

  • After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in Salta for your flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will either be transferred to the international airport (approximately an hour's drive away), or to your hotel.
