Buenos Aires Upon your arrival at the International airport in Buenos Aires you well be welcomed and escorted to your hotel. Here you will be briefed on all your travels during your stay in Argentina. You will then have the rest of the day free to spend at your leisure after a long flight. Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan and energetic city with an intense cultural life. Should you wish you can explore the one of the areas around your hotel in the afternoon such as La Recoleta. It is within this famous Cemetery that Evita Peron - along with other notable characters of local political and social life in Buenos Aires - is to be found. The cemetery in Recoleta is stunning and it seems to coexist peacefully with the surrounding string of Parisian-style cafés, pubs, restaurants and the art and craft market that takes place during weekends. In the evening we would be glad to make reservations at one of many fine steak-houses such as Cabana las Lilas, Mirasol, or Piegari. A number of other fine international options are available well.

2
Buenos Aires City Tour and Tigre Delta boat ride

The tour will lead you through the Italian district of La Boca to the charming cobbled alleys and colonial architecture of San Telmo through towards the Plaza de Mayo with its many outstanding buildings: the neo-classical Cathedral, the colonial Cabildo, the old town-hall, and the Government Palace. The tour then leads to the elegant residential Barrio Norte quarter with its French architecture ending with a tour around a residential neighborhood in Palermo. You will have lunch at one of the fashionable restaurants in Palermo Soho. In the afternoon you will proceed north of Buenos Aires for a one hour boat ride along the Parana River Delta. In the evening we suggest a Tango experience at Esquina Carlos Gardel, Rojo Tango, or Viejo Almacen.

Free day in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires Estancias This day is left free for you to enjoy the city of Buenos Aires at your leisure. Many of our optional extra tours are highly recommendable to fill this time and experience the city better. One of the more interesting options includes a colorful day spent at an estancia on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Lunch is included within this excursion and consists of a traditional Argentinean asado - or barbeque. Huge slabs of prime beef are slowly grilled to the meat lover's perfection during which you may enjoy some fine Argentinean wine. Following lunch you will be invited to partake in a number of traditional Guacho activities. If this day is free on a Sunday you may wish to take a tour of the San Telmo Flea Market. Another very worthwhile optional extra is the day trip to Uruguay and Colonia del Sacramento. With lunch included this tour visits Uruguay's most charming town and leads you though its most spectacular sites including the old quarter of Oporto or Lisbon and the Puerta de la Ciudadela.

(Meals - B)

CAT Tip - Make the most of your Trip: You can include an extra day in Mendoza in order to visit more wineries and explore the region further.

4
Buenos Aires to Mendoza
Mendoza In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Mendoza. Upon arrival in Mendoza you will be met at the airport and transferred directly to your comfortable hotel. Mendoza is generally considered to be one of Argentina's most attractive cities - and as you pass through its soft lighted and passive tree studded streets you will see why. The atmosphere of the city is friendly and with a number of parks and a view of the white snow capped Andean mountain range in the background - the city has an eloquence and charm that is unmatched. In the afternoon you will be led on a guided tour of the city visiting the Main Square and Civic area, the residential neighborhoods and San Martin Square with its amphitheatre for open-air performances. The evening is set aside free for you to spend at your leisure. Dinner is suggested at the famed Restaurant 1884 or at La Bourgogne housed at the Escorihuela Winery.

5
Mendoza and Wine Tasting
Mendoza and Wine Tasting After enjoying a tasty breakfast you will be collected from your hotel for a full day wine tour in and around Mendoza. You proceed to the districts of Agrelo, where you can admire the vineyards that stretch out towards the snow-capped mountains. The Agrelo district is currently the most expensive wine region in Mendoza area and includes many top wineries. Blending different varietals, different lots and even different vintages is an art as old as winemaking itself. As you tour different vineyards and learn about the ancient art of wine making, you will undoubtedly discover the complexity of the many processes it involves. The different microclimates in the area produce slightly different tastes and with different grapes many excellent vintages are created in the area. After touring the vineyards you will be treated to a special lunch which includes a typical Argentinean parilla (barbeque) with an excellent wine selection. Following lunch you will proceed to yet another vineyard in order to experience the wine making process from a more artesian point of view. Following the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.

(Meals - B, L)

** Special Note: Meals at the Bodegas are included within both the Group and Private Tours. Passengers traveling in Private will visit either the Achaval Ferrer, Tapiz, Catena Zapata, Alta Vista, Luigi Bosca, Chandon, Norton, Ruca Malen, Salentein, or the Andeluna vineyards. Passengers traveling in Group will visit the Familia Zuccardi / La Rural, Lagarde, Hacienda del Plata, Nieto Senetiner, or the Cava de Cano.

Journey into the Andes
High Andes - Argentina In the morning you will be collected from your hotel for a full day tour of the high Andes. You leave the city and drive out along the Pan American Highway that follows the edge of the Andes towards Potreeillos - the summer refuge where the high January temperatures are tempered by cool mountain breezes. On the way to Uspallata you will be able to see extraordinary rock shapes etched into the sides of the towering mountain peeks you pass by. Once across the Historical Bridge built on the site of an Inca ford in 1786 over the Rio Picheuta you will be in the heart of the Andes Range. After a short visit to Los Potrerillos Ski Center you will have the opportunity of viewing Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America. Weather permitting a visit will be made to Cristo Redentor (monument to Christ Redeemer) at 4,200mts above sea level. The monument, which weighs 4 tones, was sculpted in 1904 from the bronze cannons of the Andean Army, whose Liberating Division crossed over to Chile at this point in 1817. The monument commemorates the friendship and alliance between Argentina and Chile. Following the tour you will be returned to your comfortable hotel in Mendoza.
