La Boca, Buenos Aires Upon your arrival at the International airport in Buenos Aires you well be welcomed and escorted to your hotel. Here you will be briefed on all your travels during your stay in Argentina. You will be given a little time to unwind and relax after your flight – and in the afternoon you will be collected for a tour through Southern Buenos Aires. This guided tour takes in the city’s main attractions such as the Italian district of La Boca famous for its football team which starred non other than Diego Maradona, the charming cobbled alleyways and colonial architecture of San Telmo, the grand Plaza de Mayo, the famous Casa Rosada or Pink House, the neo-classical Cathedral, the colonial Cabildo, and finally the old town hall. Following the tour you will be invited to enjoy a light lunch at famous Tortoni café, before being returned to your hotel where you will be able to spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Later should you wish – you can explore the famous cemetery of Recoleta which is stunning seems to coexist peacefully with the surrounding string of Parisian-style cafés, pubs, restaurants and the art and craft market that takes place during weekends. In the evening it is very recommendable that you dine at one of the many celebrated steak-houses that have made Buenos Aires famous.

Helicopter Tour and Lunch in the Delta
Helicopter Tigre - Argentina Buenos Aires Tours with CAT Travel Following a leisurely morning you will be collected from the hotel and transferred to the domestic airport which is not far away. Once there you will board a private helicopter which will take you on an aerial tour of the northern section of the city along the coast before you arrive in the Tigre Delta at the Gato Blanco restaurant. It is here that you will be able to enjoy an extravagant meal in style. Following your meal you will board the helicopter once more before continuing your aerial tour of the delta. From above the crisscrossing waterways and channels of this delta are a marvel to be seen, as are the many houseboats and occasional riverside dwellings. Upon your arrival back at the domestic airport you will be transferred back to your comfortable hotel where the rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure. In the evening we recommend you dine at one of city’s famous parillas – please request more information from your Argentina Destination Specialist.

Free day in Buenos Aires
Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires This day is left free for you to enjoy the city of Buenos Aires at your leisure. Many of our optional extra options are highly recommendable to fill this time and experience the city better. If this day is free on a Sunday you may wish to take a tour of the San Telmo Flea Market. Alternatively you can take a morning stroll thorough Palermo Woods and the famed ‘Rosedal’ – one of the most beautiful parks in the city. It is worth visiting the Japanese gardens nearby where you can stop for lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon you can visit Evita museum or the MALBA - Museum of Latin America Art, that gathers works by the most important modern artists of the Latin American continent. Another very worthwhile optional extra is the day trip to Uruguay and Colonia del Sacramento. With lunch included this tour visits Uruguay’s most charming town and leads you though its most spectacular sites including the old quarter of Oporto or Lisbon and the Puerta de la Ciudadela.

Day on the Pampas
Gaucho After being collected from your hotel you will be driven to an estancia outside of Buenos Aires. Upon arrival at the estancia you will be served a number of traditional empanadas – meat pasties which are either oven baked or deep fried. You will then be given a tour around the estancia and shown the many different and fascinating ways of the gaucho. Often referred as the Argentinean version of the cowboy – Gauchos have developed their own specific riding style over the centuries. The pace of the horse is gentle, with a particular easy loping canter which both horse and rider can keep up for hours if necessary. Lunch is served at long trestle tables where everybody sits down together to enjoy the famous asado with slabs of tasty beef and ribs roasted slowly over a charcoal or wood fire, preceded by chorizo sausages or morcilla (black sausage). The meat is accompanied by a variety of the best Argentinean wines. Following an afternoon demonstration of Gaucho riding and herding tactics you will be served tea before being transferred to your hotel back in the city.

Buenos Aires
Tango Dinner After breakfast you will be given a tango lesson in the celebrated Mansion Dandi – by one of the city’s most reputable teachers. After the class you will be able to spend the day at leisure. Following a relaxing day in Buenos Aires – during which time you can choose to spend the day exploring the city on your own or undertaking one of our optional excursions – you will be invited to enjoy a final Tango Farewell Dinner. Tango has its birthplace in Buenos Aires – and there is no way better to experience the passion and wonder that this dance can produce than to see the dance live with a dinner. For the Dinner and Tango show you will be collected from your hotel at 8 in the evening and transferred to the Tango Club. Dinner starts immediately and lasts roughly two hours with the very best of Argentinean cuisine and wine available for the guests. Following the dinner, the show commences. The dancing is intense and passionate and includes many of Argentina’s most beloved numbers. After the show you will be transferred back to your hotel.

End of Tour
The Obelisk, Buenos Aires In the morning you will be able to enjoy a filling breakfast before being transferred to the international airport (approximately an hour’s drive away). At the airport you will be assisted with making your onward flight home or on to another of Class Adventure travel’s exciting Latin American destinations.
