Arrival in Ceiba Tops |

Upon arriving at the airport in Iquitos you will be met by a friendly representative and transferred to one of the many harbors in the city. From the docks you will be transported directly to the Ceiba Tops lodge in a comfortable speed boat down the River. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and upon arrival you will be met by the Ceiba Tops Staff and a tropical welcome drink. After being shown to your comfortable air-conditioned room with hot water, you will be guided around the Lodge before being invited to enjoy a delicious welcome lunch in the attractive dining area. Following the meal you will be able to take a short hike through the jungle around the lodge with an experienced guide who will explain many of the interesting features of the flora and fauna found in the area. In the evening you may sit and enjoy a few drinks at the special El Toucan Bar while being entertained by live music and interesting stories about the surrounding jungle from the guides. Ceiba Tops and Pink River Dolphins |

After a delicious breakfast in the dining area you will be led out on a boat tour where you will look for pink dolphins. These amazing creatures are easy to spot and enjoy playing close to the boat creating great photo opportunities. After the boat excursion you will head towards the small village of Yagua to get a feel for some real Amazonian culture. The Yagua Indian residents are friendly and as you pass through their village your guide will explain the many interesting facets that make up their incredible livelihood and how their culture has been affected by the passage of time and the arrival of the Europeans. Many curios and handicrafts are on sale in the village including blowdart guns which some of the village elders still use to hunt. In the afternoon you will walk from Yagua to the neighboring town of Indiana which used to be a Fransiscan mission. Following the tour you will return to the lodge and will be able to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure. (Meals – B, L, D) |

Canopy Walking |

After an early rise you will depart Ceiba Tops for the day and be transported by speed boat down the Napo River before reaching the ExplorNapo Lodge where you will be treated to a delicious breakfast. Following the meal you will be led towards the spectacular ExlorNapo canopy walkway. This amazing walkway is the longest of its type in the world and reaches heights of over 35 meters as it leads through and over the amazing Ceiba trees, stretching for over 500 meters. The views from the platform walkway are spectacular and give one a real sense of both the enormity and beauty of the Rainforest. Following lunch you will be guided to the impressive ReNuPeRu ethno-botanical garden where Shaman from native communities in the area have collaborated in the collection of a number of different medicinal plants. The list is extensive and a shaman on site will take the time to explain some of the interesting and mysterious healing properties and uses of some of the plants. In the afternoon you will return to Ceiba Tops and will be able to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure, relaxing by the pool or reading in a hammock (Meals – B, L, D) |

Ceiba Tops and return to Iquitos |

Following a delicious breakfast in the Ceiba Tops Lodge dining area you will be given the chance to choose an optional excursion of your choice, with anything from boating trips, morning jungle hikes or you can simply enjoy yourself in the Ceiba Tops pool until your departure time. After departing the lodge you will be transferred back to Iquitos and on to the airport. (Meals – B, L) |
